Angela Beaumont's early life in Newport NSW, a beachside suburb of Sydney, fostered her love of wild spaces. Growing up in the 1960’s and 1970’s she enjoyed making cubbies in the bush, swimming at the beach and sailing. It was in these surroundings that she first gained a lifelong respect for nature. The memories of these carefree days have become a foundation stone for Angela's desire to seek fun in the natural environment and to document the sense of joy she feels immersing herself in nature.

After completing the HSC Angela enrolled in The National Art School Alexander Mackie, majoring in painting, gaining a Diploma of Art in 1976. This study lasted four years and helped her to develop her art practice. She then completed a Diploma of Teaching Art at Sydney Teacher’s College. During this time she started writing songs and playing the guitar, something she still loves to do.

Angela won some awards, including the local section of The Warringah Art Prize in 1980. In 1981 Angela, with her husband Russell and baby daughter moved to Elands, a mountainous region in the hinterland of Taree. As the family grew Angela continued to paint the landscape and domestic scenes of home.

In 1990 she won the Bill Wright Award at Mid North Coast Art Society’s annual exhibition. During the same year the family moved into a one hundred year old house in the small country town of Wingham, keeping their home base also in Elands.

In 1996 Angela, sculptor Jane Hosking and ceramicist Annelie Mienecke had an exhibition at The Manning Regional Art Gallery.

In 2000 Angela had a solo exhibition ‘A Painted Life’ at Manly Regional Art Gallery.
Once her children had grown up Angela travelled to many different countries, visiting galleries, experiencing different landscapes and enlarging upon her perception of art from other cultures and different eras. Some of her work during this time reflects her experiences of far flung places and yet fundamentally Angela's inspiration always comes back to the sense of a spirit of place in her home surroundings.

In 2022 Angela participated in a group show, ‘Inside Elands’ at The Lock Up Gallery in Newcastle. This exhibition featured two generations of artists from Elands.

In 2023 she had a solo exhibition and book launch at Halliday's Point Library. She also exhibited in Taree Artist's annual exhibition and a group show at The Edge Gallery in Taree.

Angela has spent many years teaching part time, both at high school and primary level. She enjoys the innocent and vibrant nature of children’s art and loves to encourage her students.

In 2022 Angela published a children’s picture book, an Australian fantasy, ‘The Golden Bird.’ She is currently working on two other books featuring her songs and artwork.

Angela wants her paintings to be uplifting to the viewer. She uses pure colour and careful composition to achieve this. Recently Angela has renewed her love of gardening and uses the abundance of homegrown flowers for painting subject matter. Among various mediums she uses acrylic paint on canvas and watercolours on paper.
